In offshore oil and gas production, accurate measurement of oil, water, and gas from individual wells is critical for operational, economic, and regulatory purposes. Traditional test separators, while effective, are bulky and limited in availability on platforms. As an alternative, multiphase flow meters (MPFMs) are used to estimate individual phase flows without physical separation.
This study focuses on calibrating MPFMs using data from seven wells over multiple days. By comparing MPFM data with single-phase measurements obtained after test separators, a calibration factor was applied to improve measurement accuracy. Data science techniques were used to analyze and validate results, enhancing the reliability of MPFMs for field operations.
